Features

  • SMS Campaigns: Marketing now has a new SMS area where you can create, edit, schedule, unschedule, and delete text message campaigns sent to your audience lists.
    • Write messages with personalization tags that autocomplete from your audience’s fields, and pick which phone number field to send to.
    • Send a test message to yourself before a campaign goes out.
    • See delivery and engagement metrics on each campaign’s detail page.
    • Accounts that haven’t finished SMS signup get a clear prompt to complete it first. Campaigns can only be created or edited once an approved, compliant messaging registration is in place.
  • Calculated Fields in Data Studio: Build your own columns from formulas right in the Columns panel. The editor suggests columns and functions as you type and points out problems before you run a query.
    • Calculated fields can work row by row, as summaries (totals, averages, and so on), or across related rows (for example running totals and rankings).
    • You can filter and group by calculated fields, and Data Studio warns you when a change would break an existing filter or summary.
  • More Flexible Data Studio Joins: You can now attach a custom join to any data source already in your data set, not just the main one, and match on more than one column at a time.
  • Dataset-Based Audiences Are Easier to Understand: An audience built from a Data Studio dataset now shows the dataset’s name with a link to open it. The List Filters tab shows where the audience’s data comes from and which filters it uses, and notes when the dataset was edited after the list was last updated, or when it has been archived or deleted.
  • Call Tracking Enablement: An account that doesn’t have call tracking turned on now sees a prompt to enable it from the Business Numbers page, instead of an empty table.
  • Account Name in Browser Tabs: Browser tabs now show the current account’s name alongside the page name, so you can tell accounts apart when several are open at once.
  • Marketing Access Controls: Marketing pages now follow each user’s Marketing permission, so only users who have been granted Marketing access can open them.
  • Custom App Ordering: Organizations can now choose the order of the main apps in the navigation. Organizations that don’t set an order keep the default.

Performance

  • Faster Formula Editor: The calculated field editor now starts loading before you open it and shows a placeholder while it finishes, so you no longer stare at an empty box.

Bug Fixes

  • “Start Data Set from Here” Matches Your List: Data sets started from a records list now keep the list’s sort order and filters exactly, so the results match what you were looking at.
  • Saved Filters Stay as Saved: Clicking Apply on a reopened data set without changing anything no longer alters its filters or results.
  • Deleting a Sorted Column: Removing a column a data set was sorted by now removes that sort too, instead of breaking the data set or silently sorting by a hidden column.
  • Easier-to-Read Filters on Small Screens: Grouped list filters in Data Studio now wrap properly and are labeled clearly in narrow windows.
  • Call Tracking Updates: Successful call tracking account updates are no longer reported as failures.
